Schools must administer the multiplication tables check (MTC) to year 4 pupils between Monday 1 June and Friday 12 June.
If required, schools can use the following week, from Monday 15 June to Friday 19 June, to administer the check to pupils who were absent during the first 2 weeks or in case of any delays due to technical difficulties.
We recommend check administrators review the ‘See how many pupils have completed the official check’ page within the MTC service regularly during the administration window to ensure all pupils who have taken the check, or been recorded as not taking the check, show as ‘Complete’.
Once all pupils show as ‘Complete’, schools must submit the MTC headteacher’s declaration form (HDF) on the MTC service by Friday 19 June.
For additional guidance and support, please refer to the updated MTC administration guidance, watch the MTC administration video or visit the MTC help centre.
Please also tell us about your experience of using the MTC service by completing our MTC feedback survey.
